Hello everyone!
My name is Julie Harris and I am a fifth year teacher at Eagleview Middle School in Academy District 20 of Colorado Springs. I moved here six years ago from Ann Arbor, Michigan where I was born, raised, and graduated college. Naturally, I am a born and raised Wolverine--GO BLUE! Since moving here, I have always taught 7th grade English Language Arts, but have always felt a particular connection to those students who struggle with literacy skills. I have worked closely with our school's literacy coach in the recent years, and am excited to get my own degree in reading instruction and curriculum. At school, I also coach the school's speech and acting team, I sponsor Student Council, help out with sporting events, and am on several committees including an RtI task force, PBiS committee, and a curriculum & intervention development team. I like to be busy. Outside of school, I like to read, cook, craft, and of course spend time with my husband and dog.
